CPR (Construction Product Regulation)
RTRC Limited holds the distinction of being the first laboratory in India to develop CPR (Construction Product Regulation) test facilities. CPR tests, a critical requirement for assessing the reaction to fire performance of construction products, particularly cables. Their pioneering CPR test facilities underscore RTRC Limited’s commitment to meeting stringent international safety and quality standards in the industry.
Construction Product Regulation (CPR) is indeed a mandatory requirement for exporting products to the European market, especially for construction products like cables. CPR compliance ensures that products meet stringent fire safety standards, assessing reaction to fire, smoke emission, and other critical safety parameters. Without CPR certification, manufacturers cannot legally market or sell their products within the European Economic Area. RTRC Limited’s CPR test facilities provide essential testing services to help manufacturers achieve compliance, enabling smooth access to the European market.
The purpose of CPR is to ensure that all cables to be used by utilities/export are assessed, classified and approved under a single criterion. This classification represent an important step towards improving the performance of cables and their safety level.

Cables classified as B2 and C are those with maximum performance against fire, providing maximum protection to people and equipment.
Cables belonging to classes D and E have a more basic level of safety.
